This started out as an experiment in laying out / penciling a full size page. I didn't really have an idea where the 'story' was going, or really if there even was one. I just wanted to draw and develop stronger visualizing skills, and work at rendering shots and interpreting visualizations. So I started drawing. I have to confess in a slightly bad mood. That's why the guy is at a lunch table, I was thinking of doing a 'story from real life' - thing. You know, one of those disenchanted, existential angst, the void > the void > THE VOID !!! pieces. I was thinking of titling it - "This Blue Collar" - you know, all 'Boo - Hoo' and stuff. Then as I worked on it, on and off throughout the day - my mood improved !!! And what were to be faceless throngs of numbed shoppers / commuters / consumers - became ZOMBIES ( ha ha - same thing !!! ) And that's when it 'clicked' and I became so enthused with the idea, that after I inked and scanned it, I went ahead and colored and lettered it just for kicks. Then I became curious and asked myself - "whats this fellows name - where is he from, or at - what exactly IS happening there, wherever he / they happen to be ? All valid questions indeed. So - I'll try to get as much done as possible and that way we can explore together and find out - WHAT THE HELL IS HAPPENING DOWN THERE . . . . . ??? "

Hunger Comics
You know me - I LOVE COVERS !!! Book covers, comic covers, magazine covers - you name it. If it has a cover on it > I'll love it. So, in keeping with this I decided to take this 'quick sketch' I did of this herbivore gone carnivore and have some fun with it. You know fonts, colors etc. I have a really big bias for the older 'classic' covers from years gone by. Creepy, Eerie, all the EC Comics stuff: Vault of Horror, Weird Science / Weird Fantasy, Crypt of Terror, Tales From the Crypt, Heavy Metal, Epic and of course - The Hardy Boys. Oh yeah - covers ROCK !!! I hope you enjoy this one > RRRrrrrraaahhhhhh !!!

Camera 5
Charles stood stiffly his body knotted, a trembling hand supporting his weight over the dingy desk in the small isolated sentries office. His mind repulsed yet his eyes bound to the small screen in front of him. Was that Al - ? He asked himself, it couldn't be . . . his mind reeled, senses impacted by the overwhelming vision that pressed itself into his reality. It couldn't be Al . . . it couldn't . . . he was dead. Vanished six months ago while out doing repairs on the uptake manifold at the end of scour shaft 3, near the edge of the crater. It was his suit, that's for sure - and his magma axe, he always used one, but this - this thing . . . what is it - what is going on ? Breath wheezed from the crushed bird cage of his chest, he stammered, dumb lips plying the mindless air - lurching backwards he falls into an old broken Managers chair, hands gripping for support but finding none, he stairs at the image on the screen. His stomach begins turning slowly as he realizes the appalling syncopation that his heart is beating in time to the creatures pointing, thrusting dead finger and it's wordless demand . . . as tiny silvery stars shimmer all around them, here - on this Mining outpost, far, far from home . . .
